Poultry farming is the internal and external raising of domesticated birds such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese.

AggreBind can provide soil stabilized base layers internally, or externally, from in-situ soils that are then surface sealed to reduce soil contamination and to assist in surface cleaning.

AggreBind can also be used to seal any other structural surfaces like concrete, metal or wood within the farming area.

Airborne dust and dust control are major factors in spreading various bacteria to all parts of planet Earth and this is easily contained by regular surface applications of AggreBind.

AggreBind is available in a range of colours and this can provide a visual guide for maintenance programs.

AggreBind is environmentally friendly and harmless to all plants and animals.

Poultry farms are a very interesting potential client for AggreBind soil stabilization with three main focus applications:

1) Floors for chicken coops : Cleaning process is physically very hard on the floors so it deteriorates them quickly.
Moisture is the major source of problems in the coops.  AggreBind is water proof.  When floors are gouged during the clean-up process the damage is easily repaired and should only require additional topseal in the damaged area.

2) Looking for an economic way to replace their floors with easier/quicker repairs at a better cost?
The savings should be significant when you combine time, material and labor. Coops can be reopened within a day or two.

3) Internal Roads and Parking Areas: Roads inside the farms are a problem in the winter (mud).  AggreBind soil stabilizer, according to normal protocols, can stabilize these areas.

These seriously eroded areas clearly indicate that this material should be removed.
The contamination has seriously damaged the integrity of the material and this could result in future health risks from
the contamination.

Se esse material for triturado e depois estabilizado com AggreBind, podem ser necessários alguns testes iniciais de laboratório. Isso seria necessário para comprovar que qualquer contaminação no material foi encapsulada e que ele não representa mais um risco à saúde das aves.

Technical Questions

Right now they have 7cms of concrete/dolomite floor.
Max weight of their tractors is 3.1 tons.
Could we go with 7 cms AggreBind ? or 10?
During clean-up the equipment tends to gouge the floor.
Recommended is 10cm with 3cm as a buffer. (10-3=7, 7-3=4)  10cm is the safest/best depth.

Should we suggest a double topseal in order to minimize damage from the rotavator and front loader?
With a maintenance protocol to top-up areas that are damaged a double topseal is not necessary.
For comparison only, it would be interesting to see half the area with a single topseal and half the area with a double topseal.

The turd from the chicken is very high in ammonia, most of it is absorbed by a mix of dirt and rice hulls or husks but still it contains a hard smell of ammonia, is it a problem?
Ammonia is not a problem.  Only phosphoric acid destroys AGB.
Further, coops are cleaned every 60 days or so.  There is a layer of dirt above the AGB stabilized area creating an absorption area and a buffer zone.

Chicken coops and Poultry Farms are an excellent AggreBind application.

AggreBind Application

Remove current concrete floor.
Concrete floor must be removed. If crushed, it can be reused with adding fines. If an AGB floor simply crush in place and reuse.
Analyze the granulometry of the dirt below it in order to compensate with other material accordingly.
This is the sub-base. If exposed, it should be compacted. If the concrete floor had no stress related cracks then the sub-base should be OK.
Use the Rotavator they already have to scarify the dirt below the concrete to 7cms to install AGB.
Bring in 10cm of crushed concrete for reuse or new material. Either is to be mixed with AGB at 4ltr of AGB per m3 at OMC, according normal procedures.
Level it and conform it with front loader they already have.
Yes, profile it with available equipment.
Compact with small roll.
Compaction is very important.Try to get a 10+ ton vibro compactor into the coop. Measure doorways and see what equipment  fits and is available.
Option 1: 1 topseal (0.33 AGB / 0.66 water) 1 lt per sq meter.
Option 2: 2 topseals (0.25 AGB / 0.75 water) 1 lt per sq meter.
Maintenance Plan Suggestion
Topseal every xxx time – please let me know your suggestions.

Top-up, topseal, only the areas that get damaged from the clean-up equipment.
